Carol's Swag
I have an abundance of lavendar in full bloom so I invited Carol Tonseth and Maryann Meyer to joined me today to make lavendar wreaths. Carol decided to make a swag (shown above). Maryann made the wreath shown below.

Maryann's Wreath
If you would like to make a lavendar wreath it is quite simple. You need a structure; Maryann used a grapevine wreath, Carol used a twig swag, and I used a heavy wire wreath. In addition you will need: light weight floral wire, wire cutter, fresh lavendar and ribbon which is optional. Make bunches of lavendar about 6″ long and the diameter of your index finger and tie together with a small piece of wire. See below.

As to how many bunches to make that depends on the look you want for your wreath. Maryann’s didn’t take as many bunches as mine did because she didn’t need to cover the grapevine wreath. I had to cover up my wreath structure.
Once you have made your bunches then attach them to your wreath structure with wire. I would make ten bunches and then attach them two or three at a time by wrapping the wire around the wreath. Continue doing this until the wreath is covered. When you get to the end which is actually where you started just layer the end bunches under the lavendar where you started.
